The original vision for the web was a place where it would be as easy to put stuff on to the web as it is to read stuff on the web. Unfortunately that hasnt really worked out. Most websites are still very difficult for most people to put pages on to.

 

We changed that by inventing a system where pretty much anyone who can browse the web can make pages on the Ranui website.  We call it webspaces, and its quicker, cheaper and more fun than any other kind of publishing.

 

How its organised

A webspace is a section of our website, which you have control over. Each webspace comprises a main page and a number of optional seperate related pages. The main page  is like a contents page for the other pages, with a link to each of the seperate pages.

 

Each webspace is secured seperately so only specified people can add to or edit each webspace. An overall index page catalogs all the webspaces on the system.

 

Who can get some space?

Anyone in the Ranui community. It works best for community groups, RAP focus groups, asociations, clubs and other organisations, but individuals who have something to say can also get one, as well as small businesses wanting a new  web presence.

 

How do i go about getting one?

The process of webspace creation is 98% automated--you just fill out a short on-line form.

 

First as a prospective webspace manager you have get a Ranui web username. Then you fill out a simple on line form to specify the name of your webspace, and what its about. After the webspace has been approved, which takes a day or so, you can then add content to it.

 

Your material is all entered in plain text, so you can either just type it on-line, or paste it from a word processor.
