Although practically anyone can get involved with RAP activities, becoming a member of the RAP incorperated society has real advantages. It means that you can participate in the community's decison making process, and influence its direction and priorities. You can apply either by getting a form from the RAP office, or right here on line.

Application for Membership

Aims and Objectives of the Ranui Action Project Society

The Society will work to strengthen and revitalise the community and improve health and wellbeing through:

  • Developing awareness and ownership of the project within the community
  • Enabling the community to develop their own ideas, processes and solutions
  • Expanding the knowledge and skill level in the community
  • Working directly with local iwi, the Maori community of Ranui in the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Operating inclusively and appropriately with the diverse range of ethnic, cultural and other groups in Ranui
  • Facilitating collaborative relationships within the community and with agencies that are working in partnerships with us
  • Encouraging new partnerships with providers to improve access to services for local people
  • Ongoing evaluation of the community's perceptions of Ranui's social and physical environment and the effectiveness of the project
  • Communicating effectively with the community
  • Being accessible and remaining open to the involvement of new people
  • Keeping comprehensive and accurate documentation as a record of the project and for future use
  • Responsible allocation of funds from government and other sources in accordance with the values aims and objectives of the Society.

Full membership of the Society is open to any person who lives, works or otherwise
participates in Ranui or organisations located in Ranui (Clause 6.2 of constitution).

Associate Membership is open to any person who has a specific interest in Ranui but
does not meet the conditions for full membership (Clause 6.3 of constitution).
